The Role

The Senior Solution Architect plays a strategic role in designing and developing high-quality technology solutions aligned with client needs, operational standards, and the broader BCX Cloud Platform Services strategy. This role involves leading solution creation, architecture development, risk identification, and pricing, while actively engaging with clients, vendors, and internal business units to deliver winning proposals and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and present complex business unit solutions that align with business requirements, service level agreements, and operational standards

• Design solution strategies, architecture, and cost models that align with BCX's Cloud Platform Services strategy

• Participate in defining and executing the Sales & Solutions Business Unit strategy and operational model

• Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions

• Identify and mitigate technology, commercial, and delivery risks in proposed solutions

• Lead or contribute to proposal development, bid qualification, and client/vendor contract negotiations

• Facilitate collaboration across internal BCX divisions, enhancing internal processes and external value delivery

• Build and maintain relationships with partners, clients, and vendors to drive strategic alignment and growth

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• NQF Level 6: 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Information Technology

• OR NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) with extended experience

Experience

• Option 1: Minimum 7 years in solution architecture, including 2+ years at a senior level

• Option 2: Minimum 9 years in solution architecture, including 2–3 years in a senior management capacity

Certifications

• Relevant architecture, cloud, or IT certifications preferred (e.g. TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, ITIL)
